Indian Overseas Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 750 Vacancies

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 Indian Overseas Bank, headquartered in Chennai, is a leading Public Sector Bank with a wide branch network spread across India and a presence abroad. The engagement will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961, and candidates will be selected through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) or the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), depending on their mode of registration. Applications must be submitted online between 07 July 2026 and 20 July 2026 through the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India (BFSI SSC) portal, and no other mode of application will be accepted. 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 Candidates must be citizens of India. The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum age is 28 years as on 01 July 2026 for General category and EWS candidates, meaning the date of birth should fall between 01 July 1998 and 01 July 2006, both dates inclusive. Age relaxation of 5 years is available for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates, as per Government of India norms, subject to the condition that candidates registered under NAPS should be less than 34 years as on the cutoff date. The educational qualification required is a graduation degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification, with the result declared on or before 31 July 2026. Candidates registered under NATS must have their graduation result declared between 01 March 2022 and 31 July 2026. Importantly, candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship earlier, either with Indian Overseas Bank or any other organisation, or who have one year or more of job/training experience after completing their graduation, are not eligible to apply. Selection Process Selection will be based on an Online Written Examination, followed by a Test of Local Language wherever applicable, and a Document Verification/Personal Interaction stage as decided by the Bank. The online examination will be of 90 minutes duration, comprising 100 objective-type questions worth 100 marks, covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer or Subject Knowledge, with 25 questions from each section. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying percentage decided by the Bank, with a 5 percent relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. There is no minimum qualifying mark for individual sections. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 (𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩) Step 1: Registration on the NAPS or NATS portal prior to applying for the IOB Apprenticeship Program. Step 2: Online application submission through www.bfsissc.com or https://beep.bfsissc.com. Step 3: Payment of the applicable application/examination fee online. Step 4: Online Written Examination (tentatively scheduled for 02 August 2026). Step 5: Test of Local Language for the State applied for, conducted during document verification. Step 6: Document Verification / Personal Interaction at a designated centre. Step 7: Medical Fitness Examination of shortlisted candidates. Step 8: Preparation of final merit list and provisional engagement of selected apprentices. 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 Interested candidates must first complete registration on either the NAPS portal or the NATS portal before applying for the IOB Apprenticeship Program. NATS-registered candidates need to log in to the NATS portal and apply against the advertised vacancies under "Apply against advertised vacancies," while NAPS-registered candidates need to search for "Indian Overseas Bank" on the NAPS opportunity page and apply through the "Apply for this Opportunity" option. Thereafter, candidates must complete the online application form on the BFSI SSC website, providing their NATS or NAPS enrolment number, personal and educational details, and pay the applicable fee online. Candidates can apply for engagement from only one State or Union Territory, preferably their home State. Once submitted, the application cannot be withdrawn or modified.
