๐—”๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) is a Mini-Ratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise, fully owned by the Government of India. It was incorporated on 13th January 2006 under the Companies Act, 1956, and functions under the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. SPMCIL is responsible for the design and production of currency notes, bank notes, coins, stamps, passports, and various other security documents used by the Government of India and State Governments. The corporation operates eight production units across the country โ€” four Currency/Security Printing Presses at Nashik, Dewas, and Hyderabad, four Mints at Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Noida, and a high-quality paper manufacturing mill at Narmadapuram.
