The essential requirement is Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as subjects. Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate across all subjects with at least 40% marks in each individual subject. Candidates who are currently appearing in the Class 12 Board Exam of the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply, provided they fulfill all other eligibility requirements. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 (𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩): STAGE I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test): The first stage consists of the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), a computer-based examination conducted nationwide. The exam comprises 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, totaling 100 marks. The question paper is bilingual, presented in both Hindi and English. Candidates can choose their preferred medium while answering. The examination duration is one hour. The test covers four sections: English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness. The question standard matches the 10+2 level curriculum. Candidates are required to pass in all sections individually as well as achieve a qualifying score in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to determine the minimum passing marks for each section and overall aggregate. Negative marking is applicable – for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks (one-fourth of the question mark) will be deducted as penalty. Candidates must note that the Centre allocation for INET is at the discretion of the Indian Navy, and selected centres will be allotted during the application process. RECRUITMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Candidates who qualify the Physical Fitness Test undergo comprehensive medical examination conducted by authorized military doctors. Those found medically unfit have the option to appeal for review of findings at designated military hospitals allocated by the Indian Navy within five days maximum. PROVISIONAL SELECT LIST & MERIT: The Provisional Select List is prepared based on candidates' performance in Stage II written examination, subject to qualification in both Physical Fitness Test and Recruitment Medical Examination. Merit lists are prepared on a state-wise basis. In case of candidates with identical percentage scores exceeding required numbers, shortlisting is done based on Date of Birth (DOB), with earlier DOB receiving priority as they have fewer chances in future recruitment cycles. PRE-ENROLMENT MEDICALS: All selected candidates must undergo pre-enrolment medical formalities at INS Chilka. Induction is subject to qualifying these pre-enrolment medicals.
