Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is a paramilitary force operating under the Ministry of Home
Affairs, Government of India. Established to provide security and maintain order in
sensitive border regions, SSB recruits dedicated personnel across various operational

NATIONALITY & CITIZENSHIP:
⢠Indian citizenship is mandatory for all positions except Driver, Veterinary, Carpenter,
and Nursing Orderly posts (which allow citizens of Nepal/Bhutan with prior Government
permission)
AGE LIMIT:
⢠All Constable positions: Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years old
⢠Age determination date: Closing date for application submission
⢠Age relaxation available for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), Ex-Servicemen (3 years),
and other categories as per government orders
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
š Constable (Veterinary):
⢠10th class pass with Science as main subject from recognized board
⢠One year practical experience in animal treatment at recognized veterinary hospital
š Constable (Driver)
⢠10th class pass from recognized board
⢠Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (mandatory)
š Constable (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter):
⢠Matriculation or equivalent from recognized board
⢠Either 2 years work experience in respective trade OR
⢠1-year certificate course from recognized industrial institute with minimum 1-year
experience in trade OR
⢠2-year diploma from recognized industrial training institute in same/similar trade
⢠Must qualify trade test (compulsory)
⢠Multi-skilled candidates given preference
š Constable (Carpenter):
⢠Matriculation or equivalent from recognized board
⢠2 years work experience in carpentry OR
⢠1-year certificate from recognized institute with 1-year trade experience OR
⢠2-year diploma in carpentry from recognized institute
⢠Must qualify trade test
š Constable (Nursing Orderly):
⢠10th class pass from recognized board
⢠First Aid certificate from St. John's Ambulance Organization or Red Cross Society
⢠Minimum 1 year working experience as Nursing Orderly in recognized hospital/institution

Male Candidates: 4.8 km race to be completed in 24 minutes
Female Candidates: 2.4 km race to be completed in 18 minutes
For Constable (Veterinary):

⢠Chest minimum 80 cm with 5 cm expansion (male only)

For Constable (Driver):
