Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) is a state-owned power utility established on 29 March 2004, responsible for managing and operating the transmission infrastructure across Odisha. With an extensive network spanning 17,100 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and 202 substations ranging from 132 kV to 400 kV, OPTCL is a critical institution in India's power sector.
OPTCL has pioneered technological advancement through System Automation, STAMS (Substation Telecontrol and Monitoring System), drone-based surveys, and PG-DARPAN software implementation. Management Trainee (Civil): Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from recognized institution (50% for SC/ST candidates). Alternative: Passing Section A & B of Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil Engineering with minimum 50% marks.
Management Trainee (Law): Bachelor's degree in Law from recognized institution with no specific minimum percentage requirement.
Junior Management Trainee (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering in regular mode with minimum 60% marks from recognized institution (50% for SC/ST candidates).
Office Assistant Grade-III: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from recognized university with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). Must possess ability to read and write Odia language and have working computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
AGE CRITERIA:
• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 32 years (as on 01 February 2026)
• SC/ST/SEBC Candidates: 5 years upper age relaxation
• Women Candidates: 5 years upper age relaxation
• PwBD Candidates: 10 years upper age relaxation
• Ex-Servicemen (Office Assistant only): Service period deductible from age
Note: Age relaxation is provided separately; combining multiple relaxations follows most beneficial criteria.
OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
• Indian citizenship mandatory
• Fluent in Odia language (passed Middle School with Odia or equivalent)

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) – 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

• Marking Scheme: 1 mark per correct answer; 0.25 mark negative marking per wrong answer
• Subject Distribution (MT Civil/Law/JMT Civil): 80% Subject Knowledge, 10% Numerical/GK/Reasoning, 10% English
• Subject Distribution (Office Assistant): 30% English, 15% Computer Application, 15% Mathematics, 20% Reasoning & Mental Ability, 20% General Awareness
Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT:
• UR/SEBC Candidates: 50%

Stage 2: Personal Interview / Skill Test
