𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 South East Central Railway (SECR) is one of the 18 railway zones under Indian Railways, headquartered in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The Raipur Division of SECR is a major operational unit managing rail traffic across central and eastern India. The Wagon Repair Shop in Raipur is a key maintenance facility that handles freight wagon upkeep and technical operations. Every year, SECR invites young and skilled ITI holders to join as Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Through this notification, SECR is inviting online applications from eligible Indian candidates for engagement as Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act-1961 and Apprenticeship Rules-1962. The apprenticeship will be carried out at two establishments — the DRM Office, Raipur Division, and the Wagon Repair Shop, Raipur. A total of 1,644 vacancies have been announced across various ITI trades. 📝 Selection Process Merit-based shortlisting. No written examination or interview is conducted for this apprenticeship. The selection is purely based on the academic performance of the candidate. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 (𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩) Step 1 – Online Application: Submit your application through https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in within the deadline. Step 2 – Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared based on the average percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both the Matriculation (10th) exam and the ITI exam. Equal weightage is given to both. This is in accordance with Railway Establishment Rule 201/2017. Step 3 – Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Candidates must bring all original certificates and a valid medical fitness certificate signed by a Government-authorized Doctor (not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon at a Central/State Hospital). Step 4 – Medical Examination: A medical certificate in the prescribed format as per the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rule, 1992 will be required at the time of document verification. Step 5 – Contract Signing: Selected candidates (or their guardian, if the candidate is a minor) will need to sign a contract of apprenticeship with the employer before beginning training. Step 6 – Commencement of Training: After completing all formalities, the candidate begins their 1-year apprenticeship training at the allotted establishment.
