Selected candidates get a Short Service Commission initially for twelve years, extendable by up to two years based on service requirements and performance. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 : Only unmarried men and women may apply. Candidates who marry during training are discharged from service. 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : Requirements vary by branch. Executive (GS-X), Pilot, Observer, ATC, and NAIC need a BE/B.Tech (any discipline, or specified streams for NAIC) with minimum 60% marks. Logistics accepts BE/B.Tech First Class, MBA First Class, B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc(IT) First Class with a relevant PG diploma, or MCA/M.Sc(IT) First Class. Education Branch needs MSc/MA or ME/M.Tech in Mathematics, Physics, Oceanography, or History, with 55–60% marks depending on stream. Engineering, Submarine Tech (Engineering/Electrical), Electrical Branch, and Naval Constructor need a BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in the specified engineering streams. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐗 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐗𝐈𝐈 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 : For Pilot, Observer, NAIC, and Education Branch, candidates need minimum 60% aggregate in Class X and XII, plus at least 60% in English in either class. 𝐀𝐠𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭 : Criteria differ branch-wise. Most Executive and Technical Branch entries: born between 02 July 2002 and 01 January 2008. Pilot and Observer: 02 July 2003 to 01 July 2008. ATC and some Education sub-streams: 02 July 2002 to 01 July 2006. One Education sub-stream (Ser 7.6): 02 July 2000 to 01 July 2006. Check the exact range for your chosen branch before applying. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 : Merchant Navy Certificate of Competency holders, valid DGCA Commercial Pilot License holders, and NCC 'C' Certificate holders (minimum 'B' Grade) get relaxed eligibility or marks benefit as specified in the notification. 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐦 : Male GS(X) candidates may also volunteer for the Submarine Arm, subject to medical fitness and service requirements, by indicating this in the application. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 Selection follows a structured, multi-stage process assessing academic performance, aptitude, and physical and psychological suitability for a Naval Officer's career. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 (𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩) 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 1 – Online Application: Fill personal, academic, and branch preference details on the official website and upload scanned documents. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 2 – Shortlisting: Based on normalised marks in the qualifying degree. BE/B.Tech candidates are assessed up to fifth semester marks; postgraduates on all completed semesters.
