NMDC Steel Limited has issued Employment Notification No. 05/2026, inviting online applications for the post of Executive Trainee across ten engineering and non-engineering disciplines. This is a golden opportunity for fresh graduates and final-year students who wish to build a long-term career in the public sector steel industry. Selected candidates will first undergo a six-month training period before being confirmed as Assistant Managers in the company's regular pay scale. The recruitment process is entirely online, and candidates are advised to read the official notification carefully before applying, since the eligibility criteria, age limit and reservation details vary by discipline.

Candidates must hold a recognised degree relevant to the discipline they are applying for, such as Ceramic, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Instrumentation or Computer/IT Engineering, or a postgraduate qualification for the Finance and Human Resources posts. General category candidates (UR, EWS, OBC) need a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks in their qualifying degree, while SC/ST/PwD candidates require a minimum of 50 percent. Departmental candidates have separate relaxed criteria as specified in the notification. Final-year students may also apply, provided they complete their qualifying examination before the Group Discussion and Interview stage. The upper age limit is 27 years as on the last date of application, with standard age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and as applicable for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for this recruitment.
Selection Process
Selection will be carried out purely on merit through a structured, multi-stage process. The first stage is a Computer Based Test comprising objective-type multiple-choice questions in the concerned discipline, available in both Hindi and English. Based on performance in the CBT, candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise, in a ratio of 1:3, for the Group Discussion and Interview round.
