𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 The Office of the District Judge, Ganjam, Berhampur, has issued a large recruitment notification for 67 vacancies spread across four Group-C cadre posts in the Judgeship of Ganjam. This is one of the bigger judiciary recruitment drives in Odisha this year and offers a good opportunity for graduates as well as matriculates from Ganjam and nearby districts to join the state's judicial services. The posts on offer are Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Stenographer Grade-III, Junior Typist and Salaried Amin, and the entire application process is offline, with candidates required to submit their forms either in person or through Registered/Speed Post within the prescribed window. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 This recruitment is being carried out under the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2008, as amended up to 2026. Appointments to Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Stenographer Grade-III and Junior Typist posts remain subject to the outcome of certain writ petitions currently pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Orissa at Cuttack, while the Salaried Amin post is not tied to this condition. Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist is by far the largest category in this recruitment, accounting for the bulk of the vacancies, and involves general clerical duties, record maintenance and copying work within the court establishment. Stenographer Grade-III candidates will support judicial officers through shorthand dictation and transcription, while Junior Typist candidates handle documentation and typing work. The Salaried Amin post, unlike the other three, requires only a matriculation-level qualification along with Revenue Inspector Training, and involves survey and measurement-related duties connected with court proceedings. All selected candidates will draw pay under the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay Rules, 2017, along with usual Dearness Allowance and other admissible government allowances. 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Stenographer Grade-III and Junior Typist posts, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree (+3 examination) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university, along with a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised institute, and must have Odia language proficiency at least up to Middle English (M.E.) standard. For Junior Typist, candidates must additionally have a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute in English through a computer system. For Stenographer Grade-III, candidates must possess a minimum shorthand speed of 80 words per minute along with a typing speed of 40 words per minute in English. The Salaried Amin post requires only a matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent from a recognised board, along with completion of Revenue Inspector Training. Across all posts, candidates must be Indian citizens, of good character and sound health, and their age must fall between 18 and 42 years as on 18 July 2026, with a relaxation of 5 years applicable to SC, ST, SEBC and women candidates. Government servants, whether temporary or permanent, may also apply, provided they meet the qualification and age criteria and submit a No Objection Certificate from their Head of Office along with the application. 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 Selection will be carried out in multiple stages. A career merit list is first prepared based on aggregate marks in HSC, +2 and +3 (or equivalent) examinations, separately for General and Reserved categories, and candidates up to twenty times the number of vacancies in each category are shortlisted for the Written Examination. This is followed by a Computer Practical Test, and for Stenographer and Junior Typist posts, a Typewriting/Shorthand Skill Test, before candidates proceed to the Viva-Voce stage. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 (𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩) Step 1: Submission of offline application in the prescribed Form-A, along with required documents, within the notified dates. Step 2: Preparation of a career merit list based on HSC + 2 + 3 marks, shortlisting candidates up to twenty times the vacancy in each category. Step 3: Written Examination; candidates must score a minimum of 35% in each paper to qualify for the next stage. Step 4: Computer Practical Test, with a qualifying cut-off of 50% for General/other categories and 40% for SC/ST candidates. Step 5: Typewriting and Shorthand Skill Test, applicable for Stenographer Grade-III and Junior Typist posts. Step 6: Viva-Voce Test for candidates who clear the Computer Practical/Skill Test stage. Step 7: Final merit list preparation and document verification, followed by appointment orders to selected candidates.
