DESCRIPTION The Hospitality Monitor role is a supervisory position designed for professionals with hotel management or hospitality education. This contractual engagement focuses on ensuring food quality, safety compliance, and exceptional service delivery across IRCTC's railway catering operations. Monitors will oversee both mobile catering units (on-board trains) and static catering facilities (base kitchens and cluster kitchens), ensuring adherence to hygiene standards, company policies, and passenger satisfaction benchmarks. The position involves extensive field responsibilities, frequent travel across India, and direct engagement with catering staff and passengers. Selected candidates will work on contracted basis for an initial period of two years, with possibility of extension by one additional year based on performance and operational requirements. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Hospitality and Hotel Administration 2. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or MBA in Culinary Arts from Indian Culinary Institutes under Ministry of Tourism 3. B.Sc. in Hotel Management and Catering Science 4. Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Tourism and Hotel Management from Government-recognized Universities affiliated to UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government (including CIHM, SIHM, PIHM, affiliated with National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology - NCHM & CT) Experience Requirements: - Freshers with relevant educational qualification can apply - Those with prior hospitality or catering experience preferred - Previous railway or government sector experience is an added advantage Age Criteria (as on 1st April 2026): - General (UR) Category: Maximum 27 years - SC/ST Applicants: 27 + 5 years = Maximum 32 years - OBC Applicants: 27 + 3 years = Maximum 30 years - PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) Applicants: 27 + 10 years = Maximum 37 years - Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation up to the extent of service rendered in defense plus 3 years 📝 SELECTION PROCESS The recruitment follows a merit-based walk-in-interview methodology designed to identify suitable candidates quickly and transparently. SELECTION PROCESS (STEP BY STEP) Step 1: Document Verification at Venue Upon arrival at the interview venue on the scheduled date, candidates must submit the completed application form and original documents. Verification staff will cross-check educational qualifications, experience certificates, age proof, category documents, and identity proof. Step 2: Personal Interview Shortlisted candidates (based on document verification) will attend a personal interview conducted by IRCTC's selection panel. The interview typically lasts 15-30 minutes and assesses: - Knowledge of hotel management and catering operations - Communication skills in English and Hindi - Familiarity with local languages . - Problem-solving and decision-making abilities - Readiness for field duties and travel across India - Customer service orientation - General awareness and current affairs Step 3: Merit-Based Selection Candidates are evaluated based on their interview performance and educational background. Selection is conducted in order of merit, with offers issued to candidates scoring above the qualifying threshold. Step 4: Reserved Panel Listing Beyond the main panel of selected candidates, names of additional candidates may be placed on a reserved panel based on operational requirements. Reserved panel candidates are considered in case of any shortfall or additional vacancies. Step 5: Medical Fitness Test Selected candidates must undergo medical fitness tests as prescribed by IRCTC. Medical clearance is mandatory for engagement confirmation. Step 6: Security Deposit & Documentation Candidates must furnish a security deposit of Rs. 25,000 in the form of Demand Draft (DD) or NEFT transfer. This security is governed by the terms and conditions specified in the engagement agreement.
