The Odisha Staff Selection Commission, Unit II, headquartered in Bhubaneswar,
is a statutory body functioning under the Government of Odisha. Its primary

commonly referred to as CGLRE SPECIALIST-2025, and the official post code
is CGLS/345. A total of 199 vacancies have been announced across 16 different
post categories under various departments and Heads of Departments of the
Odisha State Government.

accepted under any circumstances. This recruitment is governed by the
Combined Graduate Level Recruitment Examination for Group-B and Group-C

Eligibility Criteria
1·Nationality:
Must be a citizen of India with good character, sound health, and free
from organic defects or bodily infirmity.
2·Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025):
· Minimum Age : 21 Years
· Maximum Age : 42 Years
· Relaxation : 5 years for SEBC / SC / ST / all Women candidates
10 years for PwD candidates
Full defence service period for Ex-Servicemen
3· General category candidates with no relaxation must be born between
2nd January 1983 and 1st January 2004.
4 ·Odia Language Requirement:
Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia fluently. They
must have passed Odia as a subject in Middle School or Matriculation,
or passed Odia in Class VII from a recognised institution, or cleared
a Middle English School standard Odia test conducted by the School &
Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha.
Educational Qualifications (Post-wise Summary):
1· Food Safety Officer:
Bachelor's / Master's / Doctorate in Food Technology, Dairy
Technology, Bio-Technology, Agricultural Science, Bio-Chemistry,
Microbiology, Oil Technology, Veterinary Science, or an equivalent
medical degree (MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/B.Sowa Rigpa). Computer
knowledge is mandatory.
2· Senior Economic Investigator:
Honours or PG Degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Agriculture
Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Sociology (with
statistics), Geography (with statistics), Regional Planning, Business
Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology from a
recognised university. Computer knowledge is mandatory.
3· Senior Cost Assistant:
ICWAI (Inter) or ICMAI (Inter) qualification.
4· Inspector of Legal Metrology:
Science graduate with Physics, or Technology / Engineering degree,
or Diploma in Engineering from a recognised institution with
3 years of professional experience.
5· Laboratory Assistant (Legal Metrology):
Same as above – Science graduate with Physics, or Engineering degree
or Diploma with 3 years of experience.
6· Computer Programmer:
B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science / Electronic & Telecommunication,
or MCA from a recognised institution.
7· Graphic Designer:
Fine Arts / Visual Arts Degree from a recognised university with
PG Diploma in Multimedia / Animation / Visual Effect; must have
skills in designing sets, advertisement materials, logos, layouts,
and illustrations.
8· Librarian in DIETs/BIETs and TE & SCERT:
B.Lib / M.Lib / BLIS / MLIS with a minimum of 50% marks.
9· Statistical Assistant:
Honours Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Economics /
Applied Economics, or B.Com from a recognised institution.
Computer knowledge is mandatory.
10· Junior Laboratory Assistant (Food Testing):
Bachelor's Degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects.
11· Market Intelligence Inspector:
Graduation in Humanities / Science / Commerce or equivalent with
at least 40% marks, and one of the following subjects:
Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, or Accounting.
Computer knowledge in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint required.
12· Assistant Embankment Inspector / Laboratory Assistant (Water Resources):
Bachelor's Degree in Science or equivalent qualification, along with
a basic computer skill certificate from a recognised institution.
13· Junior Laboratory Assistant (Factories & Boilers):
Bachelor's Degree in Science with Chemistry Honours.
14· Scribe:
Fine Arts / Visual Arts Degree from a recognised university with
knowledge of computer applications including Photoshop and CorelDraw.
