NTPC Limited, a Government of India enterprise and the country's largest integrated power utility, has released an important recruitment notice for Chemistry postgraduates. Under Advertisement No. 09/26, the organisation is hiring 40 candidates for the post of Assistant Chemist Trainee (ACT). NTPC currently holds an installed power generation capacity of over 90 GW and has set an ambitious target of reaching 149 GW by 2032. With operations spread across thermal, hydro, renewable, and other energy verticals, NTPC offers one of the most stable and respected career paths in India's public sector. This recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening the chemistry and laboratory functions across its stations, projects, joint ventures, and subsidiaries nationwide.
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
The NTPC Assistant Chemist Trainee Recruitment 2026 gives Chemistry postgraduates a genuine opportunity to begin their career with a Maharatna central public sector enterprise. Selected candidates will first undergo a structured one-year training programme, after which they will be confirmed and posted at any NTPC station, project, joint venture, or subsidiary depending on organisational requirements. The role primarily involves laboratory testing, water and fuel quality analysis, chemical monitoring of plant processes, and supporting environmental compliance work at power generating stations. Candidates joining as ACT will work closely with senior chemists and engineers, gaining hands-on exposure to large-scale industrial chemistry operations. The post offers long-term career stability and structured pay progression. Applications are accepted only through the online mode on the official NTPC careers portal, and candidates are advised to read the detailed notification carefully before applying, since the recruitment also involves a service bond and medical fitness norms that must be fulfilled before joining.
